The new frontier—will text marketing replace e-mail marketing?
Mark Ford, Co-founder and COO, Qwasi Inc.

25% of consumers—and nearly half in certain age groups—have used text messages on their cell phones to replace e-mail, according to JupiterResearch. A year ago, 51% of consumers said e-mail has prompted at least one online purchase; this year it was 44%. If those two facts don't wake up retailers to looking beyond e-mail, nothing will. But just as e-mail has its own protocols for contacting consumers, text messaging has even more. This session will examine how to determine how quickly to adopt text message marketing, which products and pitches are most effective in text message marketing and the kinds of consumers who are most likely to switch from e-mail to texting the fastest.
