Comparison shopping can happen on a mobile phone

While many retailers view m-commerce as impulse driven, there are times consumers want to compare prices. At least one comparison shopping site has optimized its content for mobile display and another company has created a business model for mobile price comparison. This session will lay out the two approaches: PriceGrabber.com's conversion of its traditional comparison site for mobile and Barcle's technology that permits a shopper to text a bar code number to Barcle for comparison prices at other retailers. Our speakers will discuss who their primary users are, what a retailer gets out of such mobile-based comparison shopping and how such price comparisons might change the retailing business. |
