View Session Analyzing the E-Retailing Market by Merchandise Segment

Internet Retailer publisher Jack Love opened the general session on the third day of the Internet Retailer 2008 Conference & Exhibition with a detailed analysis of the key merchandising segments that contributed to last year's 22% growth rate in the U.S. e-retailing market to $166-billion. In his presentation, Love culled information from the newly published 2008 Edition of the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to show how and why online retailing in the U.S. last year grew six times faster than store-based retailing. In reviewing how different merchant groups performed on the web in 2007, Love identified the online leaders and the laggards in 14 key segments of the burgeoning e-retailing market.
