Gerry Sweeney, Senior Vice President, Visa USA

Gerry Sweeney leads product marketing efforts and develops marketing strategies in support of business objectives for Visa-branded products and services including consumer debit, consumer credit, prepaid, small business, commercial solutions, processing and emerging products. Gerry has held a variety of senior marketing roles at Visa, including leading marketing efforts for VisaÁs e-commerce business unit, e-Visa. His responsibilities included developing marketing strategies to drive Visa share and volume in the e-commerce space and launching online products and services such as Verified by Visa that allow consumers to pay safely online. Before joining Visa in 1995, Gerry was Vice President and Management Supervisor for Promotion House, a division of Western International Media Corp., where he was responsible for the development of media-driven promotional programs, special events, cross-promotions, partnerships, and tie-ins for national and regional clients. Gerry has also worked for a variety of advertising and marketing agencies, handling diverse assignments ranging from Carl's Jr. fast food, to public service advertising campaigns for the U.S. Forest Service, to audience research for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
