That includes 10,000 seasonal workers for its distribution centers and 3,000 to help stores cater to cross-channel shoppers.
Anabela Perozek spent 15 years at the office supplies chain during which she held a variety of roles, most recently vice president of marketing for Staples.com.
Online shoe and apparel retailer Shoebuy.com Inc., No. 93 in Internet Retailer’s 2013 Top 500 Guide, has hired 15-year Staples Inc. veteran Anabela Perozek as chief marketing officer. She reports to CEO Mike Sorabella and will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s marketing strategy including brand positioning, customer experience and growing the company’s customer base.

During her tenure at Staples, No. 2 in the Internet Retailer 2013 Top 500 Guide, Perozek held a variety of positions, most recently as vice president of marketing for Staples.com. In that role she was responsible for all customer development and loyalty programs for the retailer’s U.S. business, says Shoebuy. Other positions she held while at Staples include director of marketing strategy and vice president of marketing campaigns. She has also worked as an advisory board member for OwnerIQ Inc., an online media firm, according to her LinkedIn profile.
