Quill.com, the business-to-business office supplies seller owned by Staples Inc., has a new president.

Sergio Pereira has spent the last five years at Quill.com, most recently as vice president of merchandising, a job he took on in July 2012, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before that, he worked as chief marketing officer.

Before coming to Quill.com, Pereira was vice president, general manager, dairy products, for Conagra Foods Inc., a U.S.-based packaged food company. At Quill.com, he replaces Mike Patriarca, who now works as senior vice president, global transformation, for Staples.

Staples is No. 2 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

“Sergio is a seasoned and innovative leader with a record of success at Quill.com,” says Joe Doody, president of North American commercial. “He will ensure that Quill.com continues to provide exceptional customer service as it dramatically expands its assortment to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses nationwide.”

In the past year, Quill.com says it has increased the number of SKUs it offers to 160,000 from 50,000.
