BENTONVILLE, Ark. June 11, 2013--Collective Bias®, the leader in social shopper media, today announced the appointment of Bill Sussman as president and chief executive officer. Mr. Sussman brings to his new role a broad base of experience and success in digital marketing, retail, and media. Most recently, Mr. Sussman was vice president of retail development and marketing at Nickelodeon where he led the consumer products business for Walmart and Sam’s Club.
“I have spent my career at the convergence of new media and advertising, and Collective Bias is facing the biggest opportunity yet,” said Mr. Sussman. “Social media is transforming the way brands, retailers and consumers interact, and I am thrilled to be joining one of the companies leading that change.”
Mr. Sussman joins Collective Bias at a time of extraordinary growth. The company currently counts top retailers, brands, and Fortune 500 companies as clients – such as Tyson, Duane Reade, and Disney – and has recorded three straight years of consecutive, triple-digit growth. In the first half of 2013, Collective Bias closed a $10.5 million Series A investment round, led by the technology growth investor, Updata Partners, with additional participation from strategic investors. Mr. Sussman will be replacing John Andrews as CEO.

During his time at Nickelodeon, Sussman was responsible for launching several new brands with Walmart, driving retail sales over a two-year period. Prior to Nickelodeon, Sussman was an executive vice president at Triad Retail Media and led U.S. marketing strategy and international advertising and marketing for Walmart.
Mr. Sussman holds an MBA from Columbia University and a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He serves on the board of directors for the Children’s Museum of Northwest Arkansas and The First Tee of Northwest Arkansas, a charity that teaches life skills to children through the game of golf.
