Apparel retailer Cache hires a Burberry executive to lead merchandising
Daphne Pappas also held merchandising jobs at Macy’s and Saks.
Women’s apparel retailer Cache Inc. has hired Daphne Pappas as executive vice president, chief merchandising officer. Cache is No. 544 in the Internet Retailer Second 500 Guide.
Pappas comes from women’s apparel retailer Burberry Ltd., No. 388 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, where she was vice president, general merchandising manager, according to her new employer. Prior to that position she was divisional merchandise manager of juniors sportswear at Macy’s Inc., No. 14 in the Top 500. Pappas also spent nearly 13 years at Saks Fifth Avenue, No. 38 in the Top 500, where she held a variety of positions, including vice president/director and merchandise manager.
“Daphne’s proven ability to interpret a brand vision and work collaboratively across all aspects of the business to deliver consistently strong selling assortments will be highly valuable to us as we position Cache to become a top destination for all of our customers lifestyle needs and to expand our consumer reach,” says Cache chairman and CEO Jay Margolis.
Cache took in sales of $12.9 million in 2011, up nearly 45% from $8.9 million in 2010, according to the Second 500 Guide. Cache says it operates 251 stores in 42 states, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
