Janrain integrates with Google+ Sign-In

As demand for social login continues to grow, Janrain continues to partner with companies such as Google to ensure that its customers have the best possible experience.

Portland, OR—April 2, 2013—Janrain, the leading provider of user management solutions for the social web, today announced a new integration with Google+ Sign-In. Customers using the Janrain User Management Platform (JUMP) can now simultaneously streamline the registration or sign in process for Google users, as well as gather key public profile data to better engage and improve the online marketing experience.

According to Janrain’s upcoming Quarterly Social Login Trends Report*, Google continues to gain social login market share, with more than a third of online consumers choosing to use their Google credentials to log in to the websites of Janrain customers. As demand for social login continues to grow, Janrain continues to partner with companies such as Google to ensure that its customers have the best possible experience.

“Google+ Sign-In gives users a trusted way to use their Google credentials to securely access apps and involve friends in the app. It also makes it easy for web users to discover and download a web site's Android app. We're excited that Janrain will help bring these new capabilities to more users and developers,“ said Seth Sternberg, Director of Product Management at Google.

Janrain pioneered social login to help companies better understand website users.  The company’s user management platform enables consumers to use social networks or email usernames and passwords to login or register on a site.  Janrain supports more than 30 identity providers, and now with the integration of Google, organizations can access rich public profile data from a user’s Google+ profile with permission, including name, profile pic, email address, and people in their circles

”We’ve been using social login to make the registration process easier and drive engagement on our music artist sites for more than four years,” said Angela Sanchez, VP of Direct Marketing at Universal Music Group Distribution. “We’re excited to support Google+ Sign-in and offer our fans another fast and easy way to sign-up and participate on our artist communities.”

“Consumers place a significant amount of trust in their online identity providers, which is why social login is so popular. We’re pleased to see Google trending in a positive direction,” said Larry Drebes, CEO of Janrain.  “The integration of Google+ Sign-In is a significant milestone in our efforts to offer the broadest range of technology support so our customers such as NPR, HSN and Universal Music Group can capture key profile data that allows them to improve customer engagement and marketing.”
