Splitzee.com Launches Social Registry Tools for Retailers

Boston, MA – Splitzee.com, a web and mobile-based social commerce provider, today unveiled new services targeted at online retailers with registries and wish lists.

Created by two friends frustrated by the traditional wedding registry process and the difficulties of collecting money for group trips and functions, Splitzee.com provides an easy-to-use service that allows users to buy things with a group – group gifts, group trips, and shared expenses of any kind.

“We’re extremely excited about the public’s response to Splitzee so far. Buying things with a group is a common social problem and something we used to do the old-fashioned way – chasing people down, juggling cash, remembering who paid what. But Splitzee has made all that unnecessary,” said company President Luke Peterson. “Today’s announcement signifies Splitzee’s continued commitment to making group payment services easy to use and available to all. Online retailers have been telling us that a gift registry is the natural place for group purchasing but that no good social commerce solution existed. We realized we could help them.”

“We’ve created a simple solution that lets online retailers integrate group-buying functions directly into their registries and wish lists with just a few lines of code,” said CTO Michael Sattler. “Now a customer’s friends can buy a SHARE of an item in a registry rather than having to spring for the whole item.

Retailers are seeing a rise in sales and significant increases in order size as people realize that their social networks allow them to afford bigger-ticket items.”
