Ann Inc. today launched international shipping to more than 100 countries on its specialty women’s apparel e-commerce sites AnnTaylor.com and Loft.com.
International clients now can access products on the two e-commerce sites and make purchases with 60 currencies. Among the countries the company now serves are Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and others in North and South America, the Middle East, and Asia.
To promote the new service both Ann Taylor and Loft are offering free shipping on international web orders over $100 from today through March 17, says Ann Inc., No. 92 in the Internet Retailer Top 500.
FiftyOne Global eCommerce Inc. is providing global ordering and fulfillment services.
“The introduction of international shipping marks another key step forward as we continue to grow our e-commerce business and expand the global reach of our Ann Taylor and Loft brands,” said Kay Krill, president and CEO of Ann Inc. “In addition, selling internationally through e-commerce will provide us with further insights to gauge future growth opportunities outside of the U.S.”
Other retailers that recently expanded overseas shipping include DrJays.com, No. 194 in the Top 500, a web-only retailer of street-fashion apparel for young adults, which last month began shipping to Russia and recently added Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Greece. DrJays uses i-parcel LLC to reach some of the added countries and many of the other 76 countries served by DrJays, which also ships internationally via FedEx Corp.and the United Parcel Service.
In November, luxury home and apparel retailer The Neiman Marcus Group Inc., No. 41, began selling internationally to online shoppers in more than 100 countries. The retailer selected FiftyOne Global eCommerce to handle payments, currency conversions and customs details for shipping the goods out of the United States.
Ann Inc. operates 984 Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Factory, Loft and Loft Outlet stores in 47 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada.
