Online marketplace Abe’s Market hires an Ulta veteran

Abe’s Market, an online marketplace that specializes in natural and organic products that include food, baby products and clothes, has a new chief revenue officer.

Kimberley Grayson comes from Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance Inc., No. 337 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.  Between November 2010 and May 2012, she was Ulta’s senior vice president, chief marketing officer. Between 2007 and 2010, she was senior vice president, chief marketing officer, for The Children’s Place Retail Stores Inc., No. 111 in the Top 500. She also held an executive marketing job for Gap Inc., No. 22.

Grayson reports to Abe’s Market CEO and co-founder Richard Demb. Her duties include folding “marketing and merchandising into one overlapping system to help drive faster revenue growth, higher levels of engagement and community, and assure the widest audience of natural living enthusiasts are connected with exciting products and services,” Abe’s Market says in a statement.  

Abe’s Market raised $5 million in a funding round in October, following a $3.4 million round in February 2011.
