Top Rated Shopping App Zoomingo Launches Apple Passbook Integration and New Features to Find Deals During the Holidays

With the new version, holiday shoppers can easily save any store offers or coupons they find with Zoomingo to their Apple Passbook

Seattle, Wash. (Dec.12, 2012) – Zoomingo, the innovative shopping app that helps shoppers find the best deals locally, today unveiled a variety of new features helping consumers find all the best deals this holiday season for their last minute shopping – all without having to hop from mall to mall to find the best bargain.  Included in the new version is support for Apple’s Passbook digital wallet, the pioneering mobile wallet platform that lets consumers store shopping loyalty cards, coupons, movie tickets and more on their smartphone.

With the new version, holiday shoppers can easily save any store offers or coupons they find with Zoomingo to their Apple Passbook.  These deals are Geofenced, allowing them to automatically display on the shopper’s smartphone when they visit a store offering the deal or the coupon.  Users on Android devices receive similar alerts when they visit the mall highlighting deals available at the mall as well as items they have saved to their shopping list.

“By supporting Apple’s Passbook, Zoomingo is helping make sure that shoppers don’t miss out of the great deals Zoomingo is discovering for them,” said Shirish Nadkarni, president and CEO of Zoomingo. “In addition, Zoomingo can help you avoid going from mall to mall to find the best bargains – Zoomingo lets you find the best holiday deals at your local stores and malls right from your smartphone, tablet or home computer.”

In addition to support for Apple’s Passbook, Zoomingo, a top app for Black Friday, is continuing to make holiday shopping much easier with these special new features:

- Gift Picks section: These are the most popular Gift items at substantial discounts selected from over 2.3 million item votes by the Zoomingo community in the last 30 days.  One can view great gift items for the whole family and the home as well as gifts under $25, $50 and $100.

- Sale Events: This section highlights the amazing store wide sales and coupons that many stores are offering during the holiday season.  Users can save these sales or coupons to their Apple Passbook and be automatically reminded when to visit the store.

- Top Pinterest Picks and Today's Markdowns sections: Shoppers can view the most popular and desirable items on Pinterest that haven't gone on sale yet and start price watching them.  Zoomingo automatically sends shoppers alerts when items they watch go on sale.  In addition, the "Today's Markdowns" section identifies the items that have gone on sale in the last 24 hours so that Zoomingo shoppers can purchase them before they go out of stock.

Zoomingo is a top shopping app featured multiple times on Google Play and on Verizon and Sprint Android devices.  The Zoomingo App is currently featured in the Shopping and Saving section being highlighted on the main App Home page of Google Play.  The Zoomingo community actively curates millions of items every month allowing Zoomingo to feature the best deals for its users.

About Zoomingo

Zoomingo was co-founded by Krishnan Seshadrinathan and Shirish Nadkarni, who also co-founded Livemocha, the world’s largest language learning website with more than 12 million users. Nadkarni also founded mobile email pioneer TeamOn, which was acquired by RIM in 2002. Nadkarni left Livemocha in 2011 and had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with his wife – an avid shopper. The experience of going from one store to another in the mall to find interesting things on sale quickly became tedious. Often, his wife might find an item, but not buy it because she wasn’t sure if there was something similar that was cheaper in another store. As a self-described “typical male shopper,” Nadkarni found the process time-consuming and frustrating, and searched for an app to help. Price comparison apps weren’t always reliable, and retailer mobile apps were geared to making online purchases. Nadkarni knew there had to be a better way – and the idea of Zoomingo was born.
