Yoox Group has unveiled a mobile shopping app for the iPhone and Android. The fashion, design and art e-retailer’s app complements its mobile commerce site, which it launched in 2009.

The app boasts voice recognition technology in a feature called Speak & Shop. Fashion and design shoppers can search for outfits, shoes, accessories or design objects by pressing a button and stating their preferred color in any of nine languages (British English, Italian, French, Russian, Spanish, German, American English, Japanese and Korean). The app returns a selection of fashion and design pieces in the desired color.

The new app also offers a feature called the Yoox Gift Hunter. The colorful, graphical tool asks a shopper a series of questions about the gift recipient and identifies the recipient by persona, including the casualista, the athlete, the style-o-phile and the fashion fanatic, each with a selection of gifts selected to suit their tastes.

Yoox.com shoppers can ship purchases to more than 100 countries. The e-retailer is headquartered in Milan, Italy. The app is available for free download in Apple Inc.’s App Store and Google Inc.’s Google Play store.

Yoox Group is No. 48 in the Internet Retailer Mobile 400.
