HSN, Gap and Williams-Sonoma lead web site availability ratings

The retailers led Internet Explorer and Firefox availability tests in October.

HSN.com's availbility score bested others in Internet Explorer testing in October.

HSN.com had the best availability score in Internet Explorer testing among large retailers measured in October, says Compuware Gomez. Last month, the retailer’s web site loaded correctly99.98% of the time in tests using the Internet Explorer web browser. Gap.com and Williams-Sonoma.com tied for first place in Firefox availability tests at 99.99%.

Gap.com and Williams-Sonoma.com finished tied in second behind HSN.com in Internet Explorer tests with 99.97% availability. Three retailers—Overstock.com, QVC.com and Toysrus.com—were next, with their sites loading properly 99.93% of the time.

In Firefox testing, Overstock.com was next behind Gap.com and Williams-Sonoma.com with a 99.95% availability score for the month. Toysrus.com (99.94%) finished fourth followed by QVC.com (99.93%).

The average Internet Explorer availability score among the 21 retailers measured in October was 99.22%. The same group of retailers produced an average Firefox score of 99.44%.

Availability is determined by the percentage of tests in which the retailer’s web site loads correctly.
