Travelocity announces a new Kindle fire app on the Amazon app store

Travelocity Kindle Fire App to Feature Mobile Exclusive Deals and Flight, Hotel, Car Shopping Capabilities 

SOUTHLAKE, Texas – September 5, 2012 – Travelocity today announced its free app for Amazon's Kindle Fire to feature Mobile Exclusive Deals, in addition to flight, hotel and rental car booking capabilities.

"With an anticipated 85 billion downloads in the mobile app industry by the end of 2012, it is important Travelocity stays at the forefront of the mobile and tablet ecosystems," said Jason Fulmines, director of mobile at Travelocity. "Amazon's popular Kindle Fire tablet offers Travelocity customers another outlet to book via their favorite mobile device."

Customers can download the app and take advance of Travelocity's Mobile Exclusive Deals, which are priced 10 percent lower than the desktop version of the site on average.

In addition to the ability to book flights, hotels and rental cars on the Travelocity Kindle Fire app, customers will also have the ability to view trip details on a ‘My Trips' tab on the app while online and offline.

Travelocity customers have been able to access the Android app version on Kindle Fire tablets, however, the new app will be specifically designed for the tablet's 7-inch IPS display and 1024×600 resolution. The Travelocity Kindle Fire app can be downloaded by visiting Amazon's Kindle Store.
