Dell.com had the best consistency score on Internet Explorer among large retailers tested in July, says Compuware Gomez. Last month, the retailer had the most consistent Internet Explorer site loading time with a variation of 0.51 seconds. Dell.com also had the best Firefox consistency score at 0.78 seconds.

Amway.com (0.66 seconds) placed second in Internet Explorer tests. OfficeDepot.com (0.96) was third, followed by Apple.com (1.04) and OfficeMax.com (1.21).

In Firefox testing, Overstock.com followed Dell.com in second place with a deviation of 0.82 seconds. Apple.com placed third at 0.95 seconds followed by OfficeDepot.com (0.99 seconds) and OfficeMax.com (1.05).

The average Internet Explorer consistency score among the 21 retailers measured in July was 1.61 seconds. The same group of retailers produced an average Firefox score of 1.70 seconds.

The consistency ratings take into account differences in the speed of web page delivery across multiple visits.
