Online auction site uBid.com has a new chief technology officer.

The company has hired Andrew Goldberg to oversee technical, information technology and e-commerce site development, the company says. Goldberg most recently worked as the chief solutions architect for Allstate Insurance Co.

At Allstate, Goldberg was in charge of teams of up to 300 employees and developed a system for company-wide paperless claims processing and an automated wealth management information technology platform for Citibank, uBid.com says.

In his new capacity at uBid.com, Goldberg will oversee the rollout of several planned e-commerce feature and function updates, although the company didn’t provide details.

UBid.com links sellers with inventory to liquidate with buyers through an online auction platform, physical facilities and a business-to-business selling platform. The company launched in 1997.
