Designer fashion retailer Bluefly Inc. has hired Scott Erdman as the company’s senior vice president of merchandising.

Previously, Erdman was general merchandizing manager at Swirl by DailyCandy, a flash sales site that shut down late last year. Between that and joining Bluefly, he spent four months advising daily deals operator LivingSocial as an e-commerce and merchandizing consultant. Erdman’s hire follows Bluefly’s expansion into flash sales in 2011 with the launch of members-only shopping site Belle & Clive.

“Scott’s retail and e-commerce experience is aligned perfectly with the luxury branded offering we present to our customers at Bluefly and Belle & Clive,” says Joseph C. Park, CEO of Bluefly.

Erdman’s 15 years of merchandizing and buyer experience also includes time at luxury and apparel retailers Saks Fifth Avenue, eLuxury.com Inc., DFS Group Limited and Macy’s Inc.

Bluefly is No. 179 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. Last year the company also launched a fashion prescription eyeglasses site, Eyefly, which is operated jointly with eyewear company A&D Labs.
