L.L. Bean and Apple top April response time tests

L.L. Bean and Apple posted the best April response times.

LLBean.com and Apple.com produced the best high broadband access times among 21 large web retailers tested in April, according to Compuware Gomez. Last month, LLBean.com posted the fastest response time in Firefox tests with an average load time of 1.02 seconds. Apple.com finished atop last month’s Internet Explorer testing with an average of 0.98 seconds.

Dell.com finished in second place in Firefox tests at 1.10 seconds, followed by Overstock.com (1.16), Apple.com (1.27) and OfficeMax.com (1.42).

Dell.com also finished second in last month’s Internet Explorer response time tests with an average of 1.34 seconds. Costco.com (1.38) was third, followed by OfficeMax.com (1.41) and Macys.com (1.55).

In April, the average large retailer’s high broadband response time for a shopper using Firefox was 1.86 seconds, the Gomez study shows. The average Internet Explorer response time among the same group of retailers last month was 2.06 seconds.
