The third annual Mobile Commerce & Marketing Forum is set for Oct. 8-10.
The executive who leads a team responsible for $5 billion in mobile commerce sales in 2011 will headline Internet Retailer’s third annual Mobile Commerce & Marketing Forum Oct. 8-10 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.
Steve Yankovich is the vice president of mobile at eBay Inc., the retail platform that has sold the most merchandise via m-commerce. He will deliver the m-commerce conference’s keynote address, entitled “Mobilizing for the future: How eBay and mobile are transforming the way the world shops.” EBay pioneered mobile commerce, being one of the first merchants to offer an m-commerce site and a mobile app. Today it boasts the site and dozens of apps for smartphones and tablets of all makes. And it uses technologies ranging from QR codes and visual search to live video and augmented reality to help it sell products in the mobile realm.
EBay’s leading mobile site and fleet of apps are showing the retail industry not only how mobile can keep a company connected with the anytime/anywhere shopper, but also the tremendous value this connection delivers. The online marketplace giant demonstrates how to put more convenience, functionality and shopping fun at consumers’ fingertips. And in so doing, eBay is deepening its bond with customers by offering them multiple ways to experience eBay via mobile—which is fast becoming embedded in how consumers research and shop.
The Mobile Commerce & Marketing Forum will feature 50 expert speakers from such pioneering mobile commerce and mobile marketing organizations as Dell Inc., Etsy Inc., HSN Inc., Orbitz, Sears Holdings Corp., Taco Bell, Walgreen Co. and Wine.com Inc. And 50 exhibitors will be showcasing the technologies and services behind successful m-commerce programs.
