Apple tops February consistency ratings

The retailer topped both Internet Explorer and Firefox consistency.

Apple.com had the best consistency score in Internet Explorer and Firefox testing among large retailers tested in February, says Compuware Gomez. Last month, the retailer had the most consistent Internet Explorer site loading time with a variation of 0.54 seconds, and also the best Firefox consistency score at 0.55 seconds.

Overstock.com placed second in Internet Explorer tests at 0.64 seconds. Costco.com (0.70) was third, followed by Macys.com (0.80) and OfficeMax.com (0.86).

In Firefox testing, Dell.com and QVC.com tied with a variation of 1 second to follow Apple.com and share second place.. Ranked next was OfficeDepot.com (1.05), followed by OfficeMax.com (1.08 seconds).

The average Internet Explorer consistency score among the 22 retailers measured in February was 1.33 seconds. The same group of retailers produced an average Firefox score of 1.88 seconds.

The consistency ratings take into account differences in the speed of web page delivery across multiple visits. Click here for the full test results.
