Dell.com had the best consistency score for Internet Explorer browser testing among large retailers tested in January, says Compuware Gomez. Last month, the retailer had the most consistent Internet Explorer site loading time with a variation of 0.44 seconds. Overstock.com placed second in Internet Explorer tests at 0.61 seconds. Apple.com (0.65) placed third, followed by Macys.com (0.66) and Newegg.com (0.75).

Costco.com topped last month’s Firefox consistency tests with an average variation of 0.56 seconds, while Overstock.com came in second at 0.69 seconds. OfficeMax.com was third (0.82), followed by Macys.com (0.83 seconds) and Dell.com (0.87).

The average Internet Explorer consistency score among the 23 retailers measured in January was 1.19 seconds. The same group of retailers produced an average Firefox score of 1.82 seconds.

The consistency ratings take into account differences in the speed of web page delivery across multiple visits.
