Standing Out From the Crowd

E-retailers know consumers want sites to load quickly, and keeping a close eye on site performance helped bath and home fragrance retailer Thymes LLC react quickly when a security seal started slowing down the site. "We only learned of this because we had alerts set up to notify us if our pages weren't loading in the amount of time we had specified," says Matt Hoenck, the retailer's information technology director and an IRWD speaker. Once the retailer contacted the company providing the security seal the problem was resolved in a few days.

That's an example of how timely information can yield fast and significant results. And there's nothing more timely for an e-retailer today than learning more about how to design a web site that stands out from the crowd.
