Mobile device cases are becoming as unique as their owners and Case-Mate.com wants to help shoppers make a statement with their smartphone or MP3 player. To help them do that, the retailer enables shoppers to choose existing designs, create their own by uploading personal images, or some combination of the two. Case-Mate added faceted navigation this year to improve the shopper’s experience, says Adam Roe, vice president of e-commerce and custom cases. Shoppers can refine a search among hundreds of cases by starting with a device maker, then narrowing it by color, protection (rugged or slim cases), and material. Sales are strong so far this year, which Roe attributes to “the increase in use of mobile devices in general, more consumers buying online and our enhanced shopping experience.”
