Hastings Entertainment is a store retailer of new and used media that uses its e-retail site,, as a sales channel for the inventory contained within its 146 stores. The site lets consumers refine their searches for books, movies, music, games, electronics and trendy products by keyword, author or artist and by a truncated bar code number, among others, and pick from the product page whether they want the product new or used. GoHastings then uses its internal order processing program called goShip to relay that order to a store that has the product. Stores receive and process online orders daily. GoShip sales increased 40% from fiscal 2009 to 2010, the company says. Consumers can also watch movie and video game trailers or buy and download music from the site.
