Launched in late 2010, health and beauty products retailer Stockn’Go steadily added to its SKU count throughout 2011, ending the year with 7,000. It will more than triple that by the end of 2012 by working with drop-ship suppliers, expanding into new categories like perfume and broadening existing areas like skin care, owner Adam Berkowitz says. A new Buy the Case section on StocknGo.com is striking a chord with small businesses like local pharmacies that can get discounts on bulk purchases without ordering in the large quantities distributors often require. Within a few months of introducing the new buying option in late summer, Buy the Case sales were accounting for more than 5% of total revenue. Stockn’Go expects to bring in $5 million in its first full year of business.
