Redcats USA, which operates several brands, has bet big on m-commerce. On top of numerous m-commerce sites it boasts 15 smartphone apps and 11 iPad apps. Many of the iPad apps recreate a brand’s catalog, enabling a customer to browse and buy directly from a page. Redcats soon will launch image search: a consumer with a smartphone will be able to snap a picture of an item and be transported to the product page on a mobile site. “M-commerce is extremely important to all Redcats USA brands as we are in the new era of mobility and convenience,” says Mike Weise, senior director of customer experience marketing at The Sportsman’s Guide, a Redcats brand. “Customers can shop anywhere at any time and we have to ensure we can service their needs through intuitive, powerful mobile shopping processes.”
