Lacoste launches mobile commerce for holiday 2011

Lacoste, known worldwide for its crocodile apparel, has announced the first of many initiatives in the mobile market.

New York, New York (November 28, 2011) – LACOSTE, known worldwide for its crocodile apparel, has announced the first of many initiatives in the mobile market launching a mobile commerce site just in time for the holiday season.

Through Usablenet’s technology platform, the new feature will give mobile users the ability for all-access shopping wherever they are, at any time of the day.  Digital savvy consumers will have the ability to search, browse, research products and purchase via their mobile devices.  Fans of the brand can connect with LACOSTE social media outlets and easily locate their nearest LACOSTE boutique.

Steve Birkhold, LACOSTE USA President and CEO commented, “We’re thrilled to provide our customers with a new way of interacting with the croc.  This is the first of many mobile initiatives that we believe will bridge users’ online and offline brand experiences in a meaningful and engaging way.”

"With the holidays around the corner and an increasing number of shoppers turning to their smartphones for gift browsing and shopping, it's the perfect time for Lacoste to launch a mobile site that enables their avid customers to shop on-the-go," said Nick Taylor, CEO of Usablenet. "We're proud to partner with Lacoste as they further their commitment to delivering customers an engaging mobile shopping experience."

In addition to the new mobile commerce site, LACOSTE apparel, footwear, fragrances, leather goods, eyewear, watches, jewelry and home textile collections are available across 108 U.S. LACOSTE retail boutiques and outlets, and via www.lacoste.com.
