Large, eye-catching squared images make it easy to navigate Threadless.com’s mobile commerce site and apps. Threadless.com creates and sells custom-designed T-shirts and accessories, and its app is designed to let customers show off their creativity, as well as buy merchandise. “The m-commerce site allows anybody with a mobile phone to experience our community and purchase from us,” CEO Tom Ryan says. “The app allows us to do a few more things.” Users can control the width and color of the virtual marker they use to draw on a T-shirt template, creating their own design. Or a consumer can use her iPhone’s camera to snap a picture of her face and superimpose it on existing Threadless designs. She can save the personalized picture in a photo library and from there order a T-shirt with the image.
