Bluefly.com’s iPad app lets shoppers flip through garments, almost as though they were flicking clothes on a circular rack in a store. The app features a carousel type of display to enable consumers to see apparel for various occasions, such as weekend wear and party dresses, a navigational feature Bluefly calls Browse the Look. Clothing images selected from the carousel enlarge to more than half of the tablet’s screen size, providing an immersive view. Tapping an image generates a screen with products from the image, such as a dress, earrings and shoes. Bluefly shoppers using iPhones also can shop via Browse the Look in the iPhone app. Consumers can purchase items without leaving the mobile apps. The iPad app also includes a video and blog sections.
