Q3 web sales at The Buckle increase 25.2%

Apparel chain retailer The Buckle Inc. capped off a healthy third quarter with a solid gain in web sales.

For the third quarter ended Oct. 29, The Buckle, No. 218 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, reported:

  • Web sales increased year over year about 25.2% to $18.9 million from $15.1 million.
  • Total revenue grew about 12.4% to $273.4 million from $243.3 million in the third quarter of 2010.
  • Comparable-store sales increased 9.1%.
  • Net income increased 11.7% to $38.3 million from $34.3 million.

Internet Retailer calculates the web accounted for 6.9% of total sales in the quarter compared with 6.2% in the third quarter of 2010.

For the first three quarters:

  • Web sales increased year over year about 22.1% to $50.3 million from $41.2 million.
  • Total revenue grew about 12.2% to $725.9 million from $646.8 million in the third quarter of 2010.
  • Comparable-store sales increased 8.7%.
  • Net income increased 12.0% to $95.4 million from $85.2 million.

Internet Retailer calculates the web accounted for 6.9% of total sales in the quarter compared with 6.4% in the third quarter of 2010.
