Sears Holdings Corp. said today it would offer free shipping on Sears.com and Kmart.com on orders above certain amounts during the holiday season.

The offer will run from Oct. 30 through Dec. 19 for orders of more than $99 placed on Sears.com, and on orders of more than $49 on Kmart.com.

Sears, No. 7 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide, is touting its other multichannel options for quick holiday shopping, including its buy online, pick-up in store feature. Sears.com and Kmart.com allow online shoppers free same-day pick-up at all stores, and curbside pickup at select locations. Customers may also access the buy online, pick-up in store feature on the retailer’s mobile apps for iPhones, Androids and BlackBerrys.

"We are always looking for ways to help our customers, especially during the busy holiday season," says Imran Jooma, president of e-commerce. "We are constantly improving our customer service and overall shopping experience, which is why we're offering multiple wallet-friendly ways to shop, purchase, and receive items, all on the customer's own terms.”

More shoppers than ever will expect free shipping deals this holiday season, as half of all transactions last year included free shipping and consumers are becoming accustomed to these offers, according to Forrester Research.
