BuySeasons Inc., an online retailer that sells costumes, seasonal décor and party supplies, says it has expanded its Wisconsin headquarters and distribution center by 31%. The facility, located in the Milwaukee suburbs, has grown by 110,000 square feet; the facility had 360,000 square feet.

The 12-year-old retailer, which sells some 22,000 products, says the expansion will accommodate its rapid growth and absorb the uptick in business during its busy period leading up to Halloween.

“This addition will enhance our flexibility year-round, and will help to position our business for long-term growth,” says Daniel Haight, president and CEO of BuySeasons. “During the months of September and October, we will ship approximately 60,000 packages per day for our BuyCostumes.com and CelebrateExpress.com customers.”

BuySeasons says it likely will hire between 1,800 and 2,000 temporary distribution and call center employees to keep up with orders during the busy time. The company also says that for this Halloween, popular costumes include Captain America, the Green Lantern, Harry Potter and Angry Birds.
