Gilt Groupe shuffles e-retail executives
Chris Ventry will manage Gilt Man, while John Auerbach will focus on Park & Bond.
Gilt Groupe Inc. has appointed Chris Ventry as general manager of Gilt Man, the e-retailer’s flash-sale site for men. John Auerbach, who previously held the general manager position for Gilt Man and Gilt’s new full-price e-commerce site Park & Bond, will now work exclusively on Park & Bond as its president.
Ventry joined Gilt Groupe last year as head of business operations for Park & Bond. Prior to joining the e-retailer, he served as chief operating officer for two apparel companies, Rogan LLC and Loomstate LLC, where he helped launch two e-retail properties, Gilt Groupe says. As general manager of Gilt Man, the company says he will oversee operations, merchandising and marketing for the division.
"Chris is as equally well versed in the world of business as he is in the world of fashion and we are excited to move him into this critical role as the general manager of Gilt Man," says Kevin Ryan, CEO of Gilt Groupe. Gilt Man launched in October 2009 and the company says it has more than 400,000 male customers. In addition to a focus on selling men’s apparel and accessories, Gilt Man also operates GiltMANual, a fashion information hub for men.
Gilt Groupe is No. 49 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide.
