BabyAge.com Inc. today opened its new distribution center in Henderson, NV. The baby gear and apperal retailer, No. 286 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, operates one other distribution center, located in Wilkes-Barre, PA, also the site of the company’s headquarters. The Pennsylvania facility has 50,000 square feet; the Nevada facility has 15,000 square feet, though a spokeswoman for BabyAge.com says the retailer expects to add space to that warehouse.

The Nevada distribution center will employ five workers initially, says the spokeswoman. The center will help the retailer meet what it says is increasing demand from consumers in the western United States.

“With the growing demand from parents in California, Washington, Nevada and beyond, we knew it was time for a dedicated hub that would allow us to serve them even better,” says BabyAge.com president Joseph Sponholz.  “Our Henderson center will do just that, ensuring that 97% of our customers receive their products in three days or less.”

BabyAge.com was founded in 1999. In March 2010 the web-only retailer raised $15 million to fund web site enhancements and geographical expansion, including to the western United States.
