Gilt Groupe Inc. has hired Melissa Liebling-Goldberg as editorial director of the women’s arm of the members-only luxury e-retailer. She reports to Jyothi Rao, general manager of the Gilt women’s division.

Liebling-Goldberg is tasked with expanding the editorial voice of the women’s division, as well as building partnerships in the category. "We see content as playing a critical role in e-commerce and Melissa's deep digital and editorial experience will help solidify Gilt's leadership in the market and further Gilt's mission to be a curated shopping site that offers trusted style advice," says Rao.

Liebling-Goldberg previously worked as style director at PeopleStyleWatch.com and People.com. She has also worked as associate beauty editor at Teen Vogue and features contributor at the New York Post.

Gilt’s hiring of Liebling-Goldberg is the third time this year that the e-commerce operator has added a notable name from the magazine world. Last month the retailer hired Tom Delavan as editorial director of Gilt Home; he had worked at interior design magazine Domino. Earlier this year the members-only e-retailer hired former Gourmet editor Ruth Reichl as editorial director of GiltTaste.com

Gilt is No. 49 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
