Dell.com (0.73 seconds), placed second in Internet Explorer tests, followed by Williams-Sonoma.com (0.76), Costco.com (0.98) and OfficeMax.com (1.03).

Dell.com had the best Firefox consistency score in May, with an average variation of 0.68 seconds, Compuware Gomez reports. Overstock.com (0.75 seconds), OfficeMax.com (0.80), Costco.com (0.88) and OfficeDepot.com (0.97) rounded out the top five.

The consistency ratings take into account differences in the speed of web page delivery across multiple visits.
