Kellwood to acquire a European fashion brand

The apparel manufacturer and retailer is acquiring Scotch & Soda.

Kellwood Co., an apparel manufacturer and retailer, announces that it is acquiring Amsterdam-based fashion brand Scotch & Soda.

The deal is expected to close next month. The purchase price was not disclosed.

“Scotch & Soda is one of the coolest, most sought-after brands today, and I couldn’t be more excited to have them partner with the Kellwood team,” says Michael Kramer, president and CEO of Kellwood. “It has achieved tremendous success internationally and has enormous potential forgrowth in the U.S. market. With Kellwood’s resources, we can’t wait to see the brand get to the next level.”

Scotch & Soda started as a line of men’s apparel and expanded into clothing for boys in 2008, women in 2010 and girls in spring of 2011. Scotch & Soda operates an online store at Scotch-Soda.com as well 30 physical stores.

Kellwood owns and operates fashion brands such as Phat Fashions LLC, No. 334 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. Kellwood is part of Sun Capital Partners Inc.
