Web and TV retailer HSN hires a veteran of HauteLook and Gap

Arthur Lewis will oversee cross-channel merchandising for HSN.com.

TV and web retailer HSN has hired Arthur Lewis as senior vice president of merchandising, digital commerce. He starts his new job Monday.

His responsibilities include the retailer’s cross-channel merchandising on HSN.com, along with its mobile and tablet e-commerce efforts. HSN says he will oversee the expansion of brands and product categories, including online product exclusives. Lewis reports to Jill Braff, executive vice president of digital commerce for HSN, which is No. 26 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Lewis comes from private-sale site operator HauteLook, where he was general merchandising manager. Nordstrom Inc., No. 34 in the Top 500 Guide, bought HauteLook, No. 156, in February for $180 million.  Lewis also worked 11 years at Gap Inc., No. 24, where his most recent position was senior vice president of adult merchandising for the Old Navy division.

"Arthur's in-depth experience in building brands, as well as his keen understanding of the changing commerce space, will be invaluable to HSN," Braff said.  "His appointment underscores our commitment to transforming our digital business to robust intersections of content, community and commerce, defined for individual screens and customized for consumers who use them."
