Nathan Martin becomes the multichannel retailer’s vice president of fulfillment.
For at least the fifth time this year, ShopNBC has hired another employee who once worked at rival TV and web retailer QVC. Nathan Martin becomes ShopNBC’s new vice president of fulfillment. His responsibilities include increasing fulfillment capacity and efficiency at the retailer’s distribution center in Bowling Green, KY.
Most recently, Martin was assistant general manager at office supply wholesaler United Stationers Supply Co. Prior to that, he held various management positions at Cost Plus, Verbatim Memory Corp. and QVC, where he was area manager, senior operations manager.
"Nathan is a logistics and direct-to-consumer fulfillment veteran with a proven track record of increasing profitability, improving service levels and decreasing costs," says Mike Murray, senior vice president of operations at ShopNBC.
ShopNBC, No. 84 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide, is a unit of ValueVision Media Inc. The retailer took in about $232 million in web sales last year—a 30% increase over 2009—and online sales now represent 41.2% of total revenue.
QVC is a unit of Liberty Media 11 Liberty Media Corp., No. 8 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
