Dell and Newegg post leading response times in May

Newegg and Dell finished first in Internet Explorer and Firefox testing, respectively.

Newegg.com and Dell.com produced the best high broadband access times among 16 large web retailers tested in May, according to Compuware Gomez. Last month, Newegg.com posted the fastest Internet Explorer response time with an average load time of 0.64 seconds. Dell.com topped Firefox testing with an average of 0.70 seconds.

Dell.com also finished second in Internet Explorer tests at 0.80 seconds, followed by Overstock.com (1.17), and CDW.com and LLBean.com (tied at 1.23).

Overstock.com finished second in last month’s Firefox response time tests with an average of 0.87 seconds. Walmart.com (1.16) was next, followed by CDW.com (1.17) and OfficeDepot.com (1.23).

In May, the average large retailer’s high broadband response time for a shopper using Internet Explorer was 1.68 seconds, the Compuware Gomez study shows. The average Firefox response time among the same group of retailers last month was 1.70 seconds.
