Harry & David Holdings Inc. this week said it had appointed a new chief information officer. Charles Hunsinger, who also takes the title of senior vice president for the online retailer of gift baskets and food, comes from Musician’s Friend Inc., an online retailer of musical instruments, where he was executive vice president of information technology.
Harry & David is No. 103 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. Musician’s Friend is No. 44.
“The company's information technology platform plays an important role in serving customers in an efficient manner, and I look forward to helping Harry & David strengthen and evolve its platform to create future growth and success,” Hunsinger says.
Harry & David also hired David Rogalski as vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer. He was chief financial officer at ecoFridge, a company that sell transportation refrigeration technology.
In March, Harry & David filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The company sells online at HarryandDavid.com, Wolfermans.com and HoneyBell.com.
