CPO Commerce Inc. says it has bought Tyler Tool, an online retailer that sells power tools and related equipment from such brands as DeWalt, Makita, Bosch, Milwaukee and Porter-Cable. TylerTool.com launched in 1999.
CPO did not say how much it paid for the e-commerce operator.
“TylerTool.com adds another essential building block to CPO's multichannel e-commerce strategy and commitment to delivering an unmatched online shopping experience," says Rob Tolleson, CPO's founder and CEO. "This acquisition accelerates CPO's ability to add new brands and products targeted to an expanding and loyal customer base of professional contractors and enthusiastic do-it-yourselfers.”
CPO operates 30 brand-specific retail sites. Last year CPO launched www.reconditionedtools.com, an online store selling 2,000 used tools and related items. As a result of the new acquisition, shoppers at TylerTool.com can receive same-day shipping on more than 5,500 products for orders placed before 5 p.m. Eastern, Tolleson says.
