Nutrisystem Inc.’s executive vice president of e-commerce and chief marketing officer Christopher S. Terrill notified the company this week that he would be leaving to pursue other opportunities. He is expected to depart in a few weeks, according to a company spokeswoman.

The company plans to conduct a formal search to find his replacement, the spokeswoman says. In the interim, chairman and CEO Joe Redling will be more involved in the day-to-day operations of the company's marketing department, the company says.

Terrill joined Nutrisystem, No. 56 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, in 2007, serving first as senior vice president of e-commerce. He was promoted to his current position in 2009.

Terrill was drawing a salary of $294,616, according to a proxy statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. His total compensation, including stock awards of $569,721 and other compensation, amounted to $1,165,955.
