Newegg.com had the best Internet Explorer consistency score among large retailers tested in March, says Compuware Gomez. Last month, the consumer electronics retailer had the most consistent site loading time with a variation of 0.38 seconds. Overstock.com (0.63 seconds), placed second in Internet Explorer tests and was followed by Williams-Sonoma.com (0.65), Dell.com (0.78) and LLBean.com (0.79 seconds).
Dell.com had the best Firefox consistency score in March, Compuware Gomez reports, with an average variation of 0.66 seconds. OfficeDepot.com (0.73 seconds), BestBuy.com (0.77), OfficeMax.com (0.85), and Apple.com (0.87) rounded out the top five.
The average Internet Explorer consistency score among the retailers measured last month was 1.96 seconds. The same group of retailers produced an average Firefox score of 2.11 seconds.
The consistency ratings take into account differences in the speed of web page delivery across multiple visits.
