The Children’s Place hires an overseas specialist

Bruce Marshall is charged with helping the apparel retailer expand overseas.

Specialty apparel retailer The Children’s Place Inc., a retail chain and online merchant, has a new manager in charge of overseas development.

Children’s Place, No. 123 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, has named Bruce Marshall as senior vice president and managing director of international business development.

He will report directly to CEO Jane Elfers. Prior to joining Children’s Place, Marshall was senior vice president and managing director of Claire’s Stores Inc. He also worked as senior vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific, for Warner Brothers.

“International expansion offers a significant growth opportunity for The Children's Place," says Elfers. "We believe this brand can be successful worldwide.”
