E-mail marketing technology vendor Silverpop Systems Inc. has hired Eric Holmen as senior vice president of marketing.

He comes from The Marketing Arm, where he was senior vice president of the marketing agency’s wireless division. He also worked as president of mobile marketing company SmartReply, overseeing a revenue increase of 800% over seven years, Silverpop says. Holman has been awarded four patents for marketing and technology processes, Silverpop adds.

“Eric Holmen brings deep experience and a powerful vision to Silverpop,” says Bill Nussey, CEO of Silverpop. “He has a relentless energy and deep experience that will help Silverpop and its customers achieve new levels of marketing success. He will play a key role as Silverpop continues its aggressive growth and expansion."

Late last year, Silverpop promoted Jeff Newlin to chief revenue officer and senior vice president of global sales. The e-mail marketing provider credited him with helping to add more new customers in the third quarter of 2010 than all the new customers added in 2009, and making international the fastest-growing segment of Silverpop's revenue.

Loren McDonald, vice president of industry relations for Silverpop, will speak at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition 2011 in a session entitled “Borrow this: What you can learn from from Internet Retailer's Top 500 about e-mail."
