OnlineShoes.com has hired Kevin Ertell as chief marketing officer.  He will oversee the web-only retailer’s e-commerce marketing efforts and boost the merchant’s branding activities.

OnlineShoes, No. 135 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, says Ertell has 25 years of experience in retail, including 13 devoted to e-commerce. He most recently worked as vice president of retail strategy at ForeSee Results, a firm that measures online customer satisfaction. His job required him to collaborate with the product, delivery, client services and marketing teams.

He also worked as senior vice president of e-business at Borders, No. 194 in the Top 500 Guide, and helped the bookseller relaunch its Borders.com e-commerce site and build the Borders Rewards loyalty program. Prior to that, he was senior vice president and managing director of TowerRecords.com.

"I am very excited about all that Kevin brings to OnlineShoes.com,” says Dan Gerler, president and CEO of OnlineShoes.com. “In addition to his tremendous passion for and knowledge of retail and e-commerce, he has an impressive ability to balance business strategy, team leadership and customer-centricity, making him a perfect fit for our team."

  • Seems that OnlineShoes.com is getting serious about competing with the bigger online shoe retailers here in the U.S. - the next step, though, for any Domestically Based online shoe retailer is to expand Internationally and what better country to start than with our friendly neighbors to the south - Mexico. There is a rumor that the ultimate Internet Addresses for the Mexican Retail Shoe Market are currently being offered for sale - Zapatos.mx and Zapatos.com.mx - It is interesting to see which big, or small, online shoe retailer will purchase said domains and achieve First to Market Advantages in Mexico!
