The search giant today launched an app called Inbox that could force retailers to change their e-mail marketing strategies.

Malwarebytes has opened a Facebook storefront where the company sells its anti-malware software, easing shopping for consumers around the world.
The site enables consumers to navigate the purchase process in 22 languages, including English, Mandarin, and Polish, and use 29 currencies ranging from the U.S. dollar to the Argentinean Peso to the Turkish Lira. That’s because the store, developed by e-commerce technology vendor Cleverbridge, aims to make it easy for consumers from many countries to make a purchase.
“We wanted to create a Facebook store for our 50,000 followers and our growing international fan base, but did not want to manage a separate account with disconnected sales, inventory and analytics,” says Marcus Chung, Malwarebytes executive vice president. “Cleverbridge made moving into Facebook commerce easy.”
The storefront is integrated into the Malwarebytes order management system used by its e-commerce site and affiliate and reseller channels, allowing the retailer to manage multiple sales channels with one administration tool.
Broadening the number of consumers who can use a retailer’s storefront is important because about 70% of Facebook users live outside the United States, says Christian Blume, Cleverbridge CEO.
“It’s not just about being able to sell on Facebook,” he says. “It’s about taking all the e-commerce capabilities you need and enabling them within the Facebook ecosystem.”
